Community Emergency Response Team training course starts Jan. 15

Lynnwood residents are invited to enroll in a Community Emergency Response Team training course that will be start on Jan. 15.

This Federal Emergency Management Agency course is about keeping yourself and your family safe and assisting others in a disaster situation until help arrives. Students learn hands-on skills to extinguish small fires, provide medical triage and treatment,conduct urban search and rescue, and other disaster response skills.

The final class on March 5 is a realistic disaster simulation for students to practice what they have learned over the eight week course. The fee is $45. Register by contacting Vickie Fontaine, 425-776-3722 or vickie@esca1.com.

The course is for those 18 and older and will be held at the Northshore Fire Station #51 in Kenmore. Classes are from 7-10 p.m.
