J.S. Bach’s beloved motet, “Jesu, meine Freude,” is the centerpiece of this all-Baroque program featuring our region’s top early music performers. Giovanni Rigatti’s “Nisi Dominus” and Heinrich Schütz’s “Es steh Gott auf” fill out the program, along with sacred works for voices, strings, and continuo. Featuring Madeline Bersamina and Rebekah Gilmore , sopranos, Josh Haberman, countertenor, Wes Rogers, tenor, and Thomas Thompson, baritone, with Ingrid Matthews, violin, Cecilia Archuleta, violin, Laurel Wells, viola, Page Smith, cello, and Henry Lebedinsky, portative organ and harpsichord. These accomplished solo artists with ensemble sensitivity promise a concert of clarity and expressive power.
