City hands out inaugural Honoring Excellence awards
The City of Lynnwood introduced a new award called Honoring Excellence…and a great deal more! at Monday night’s City Council meeting.
Awards will be presented to dedicated staff members who demonstrates their work, a citizen who actively participates in the community and volunteers his/her time, and a business that actively participates in the community.
The first recipients of the Honoring Excellence…and a great deal more! awards were:

City Employee: Susan Burns
Burns is the City Hall Receptionist. She knows you never get a second chance to make a first impression and she doesn’t need one. She gets it right the first time every time. Burns shows her dedication to the City by always providing first-class customer service to the City’s customers and City staff with her bright demeanor and can-do attitude.
Citizen: Ed dos Remedios
dos Remedios currently serves on the Civil Service Commission, Disability Board and is a Public Safety Volunteer. He is a long-time resident and volunteer of the City of Lynnwood, past City Council Member, and someone known for always being willing to step up when his family or community needs him.
Business: Acura of Lynnwood
Acura has been a great supporter of the Lynnwood Police Department’s Domestic Violence and Victim Services Coordinator by graciously donating a vehicle for department use. Acura’s owner, Jim Morino, is a long-time community volunteer and encourages his employees to give back to the community.
