Partners in the Meadowdale Playfields renovation project gathered on a sunny Monday afternoon to celebrate the grand re-opening of the facility after months of construction.

Officials with the City of Lynnwood, City of Edmonds, Edmonds School District, Snohomish County and others were among those in attendance.

Lynnwood parks director Lynn Sordel served as emcee for the ribbon cutting, inviting officials such as Lynnwood Mayor Nicola Smith, Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling, Edmonds School District Superintendent Kris McDuffy and County Councilmember Stephanie Wright, among others, to speak.

Wright emphasized the project symbolized the great work that can be accomplished when working together. Sordel agreed the event echoed the theme of partnership.

After the ribbon was cut, which had been tied to either side of a soccer goal, children in attendance were invited to kick goals.
